Cortisol Problems

An elevated cortisol level requires additional testing to determine if
the cause is related to some physical problem,
hormone imbalance,
or to
stress or other lifestyle factors. If your cortisol level is only
mildly elevated, it may help to repeat testing at a time when you
are feeling well and rested to see if your body is producing too
much
cortisol under normal conditions. Your doctor can decide
which
blood cortisol test is most appropriate for your situation.

Some general
Cortisol Problems that exist are:

A high level of
cortisol in the blood can indicate Cushing's
syndrome, a disorder that can be caused by overactive adrenal
glands, a pituitary or adrenal gland tumor, some types of cancer,
or long-term use of corticosteroids. A high level of
cortisol in the
urine strongly indicates
Cushing's syndrome.

One cause of
Cushing's syndrome is Cushing's disease, a cortisol
problem and a condition caused by a noncancerous tumor of the
pituitary gland (adenoma). An adenoma causes the pituitary gland
to produce too much of the hormone adrenocorticotropic hormone
(ACTH), which in turn causes the adrenal glands to produce too
much
cortisol.

A high
blood cortisol level can indicate conditions such as severe
liver or kidney disease, depression, or obesity.

Cortisol Problems and conditions such as hyperthyroidism can
cause
cortisol levels to increase slightly in both blood and urine.

Addison's disease develops when the adrenal glands, located
above the kidneys, are not able to produce enough of the
hormones
cortisol and aldosterone. Home treatment is very
important.

If you have
Addison's disease, one of the deficient cortisol
problems, monitor your weight regularly, especially if your appetite
has been poor or you have been vomiting. Weigh yourself at the
same time of day and wearing the same amount of clothing. Ask
when your health professional wants to be notified about weight
loss or frequent vomiting.

I. STATUTORY FAIR USE: Pursuant to § 33(b)(4) of the Lanham Act, a defense to a claim of trademark infringement  698 F.2d at 791 (citing Soweco, Inc. v. Shell Oil Co., 617
F.2d 1178, 1185 (5th Cir. 1980).
The purpose of the statutory fair use defense is to allow non-owners of the trademark to accurately describing their goods. Therefore, the defense is only available when the mark
at issue is descriptive, and then, only where the descriptive term is used descriptively. Because the use is "otherwise than as a mark," the "fair use" of someone else's descriptive
trademark should not be likely to cause confusion. [A]nyone is free to use the term in its primary, descriptive sense so long as such use does not lead to customer confusion as
